Svim visokim učilištima za sudjelovanje u programu “Erasmus+”, budućem programu za obrazovanje, usavršavanje i mlade koji počinje u akad. god. 2014./2015., bit će potrebna nova Erasmus povelja za visoko obrazovanje (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)).
U prosincu 2013. godine Europska komisije dodijelila je Sveučilištu u Zagrebu Erasmus povelju za visoko obrazovanje za cijelo razdoblje od 2014. do 2020. godine te će zamijeniti sadašnju Erasmus sveučilišnu povelju koja završava s akademskom godinom 2013./2014. Dodatno uz Povelju, Sveučilište za prijavu projekata ima jedinstven PIC broj (Participant Identification Code), a zbog specifične strukture institucije, sastavnice za projekte koje prijavljuju samostalno mogu imati svoj PIC broj fakulteta, različit od Sveučilišta.

Erasmus Policy Statement
Program Erasmus+ pruža potporu europskom planu modernizacije i internacionalizacije na području visokog obrazovanja. Prijavljujući se za i potpisujući novu Povelju, Sveučilište potvrđuje da je odluka o sudjelovanju u programu Erasmus+ dio vlastite strategije modernizacije i internacionalizacije. Ova strategija naglašava važnost mobilnosti studenata i osoblja i sudjelovanja u međunarodnim projektima suradnje kako bi se unaprijedila kvaliteta programa visokog obrazovanja i studentskog iskustva. Program Erasmus+ usmjeren je posebice na jačanje kvalitete mobilnosti studenata i osoblja i nadzor institucija koje ih provode.
